    Modern Production of Fasteners Conference Held in Moscow

    The conference Modern Production of Fasteners, which took place in Moscow on November 26 - 27, 2009, lived up to the expectations of its participants and organizers. The conference was organized by the Fasteners, Adhesives, Tools and … Magazine and Holmet Company. The conference proved to be rather representative: among the participants there were 65 managers and specialists from 42 companies and organizations of the main Russian, Belorussian, Ukrainian, Kazakh producers of fasteners (Severstal-Metiz from Cherepovetz, Severstal-Metiz Branch Company from Orel, MMK-Metiz from Magnitogorsk, AVIA-Metiz from Penza, KB-Metiz from Nizhniy Novgorod). The representatives of all Russian producers of automobile fasteners took part in the conference (BELZAN from Belebey, Krasnaya Etna from Nizhniy Novgorod, VZTD and N from Volgograd, RAAZ, AMO ZIL from Roslavl). Their consumers – producers of domestic automobiles (AVTOVAZ, AVTOGAZ, URALAZ, KAMAZ, and AVTOZIL) – also participated in the event.

     


    Fastener producers from the neighboring countries (Druzhkovsky Metiz Plant, Gomelsky Plant of Founding and Normals, Mirigo from Gomel, ASIA-Metiz from Karaganda) also showed a big interest in the theme of the conference. Among the participants there were also Russian sellers of fastener goods (DEP, SPC Petrotekh, AVTOKONT from Saint Petersburg, and BOLT.RU from Moscow), scientists and lecturers from MGTU by N.E. Bauman, Moscow State Industrial University, MATI by K.E. Tziolkovskiy, and FGUP NAMI.

    The agenda of the conference covered almost all main technological operations of the fastener production process. 23 representatives from 12 world leading companies dealing with development of technologies and equipment for the total cycle production of fasteners came to the conference from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Austria and Canada. Most reporters were company directors knowing onions in niceties of equipment produced at their plants.

    Ferdinand Kersten, Director of Techno Centre NEDSCHROEF HOLDING N.V., opened the conference by his report with the review and analysis of the situation on the market of automobile fasteners. He paid a lot of attention to the efforts providing high quality of fasteners, giving examples from production process at the plants of NEDSCHROEF Holding.

    The companies EBNER, STEULER, KOCH, LUELING dedicated their reports to the problem of preparation of high quality metal for the cold heading. Bolt producing machines were presented by NEDSCHROEF HERENTALS, WAFIOS, S.M.A.R.T. STREICHER representative told the participants about nut-tapping machines. CAN-ENG Company reported on thermostrengthening technology and construction of pass-through furnaces for fasteners. ATOTECH made several detailed reports on new protective zinc and lamellar coatings for fasteners. The participants showed great interest in the report on equipment for fastener quality control, produced by HILKER Company. WEIGHPACK reported on its new developments in the field of fastener packaging.

    When all the reports made, the listeners exchanged their opinions on the conference and noted a lot of new information and the benefit of every report. “It was a nice conference”, said Usmanov M.X., the General Director of VZTD and N. Sytnev A.V., the Head of the Competence Center Components and Materials, shared his ideas about the cooperation with fastener producers. Luksha O.G. expressed his concern regarding training of personnel.

    Russian participants of the Conference offered to prepare a decision, based on the results of the Conference, concerning their mutual actions aimed at development of modern productions in Russia. All the reporters expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the Conference for the high level of its organization.
